The variety originally comes from Spain and is early ripening. Bakios round shape, however, can cause it to retain water in rainy and humid climates. The reduced ability to shed water could lead to splitting. This early ripening variety is recommended for cold and dry climates where growers can harvest these beauties before the frost sets in.
